Live Satsang 10/17/22 - From Bali!! Our focus for the month is FEAR and our relationship with it.
Some things I mention in the Satsang:
Fear is one of the kleshas, or root causes of suffering, according to Yoga philosophy.
ABHINIVESHA = Fear
It's compounded by two other kleshas, or causes of suffering:
DVESHA = Aversion
ASMITA = Identification with a conditioned response vs. your true self
FEAR: FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL
For the month, consider keeping a Fear Journal
For each of your fears, try to see if it’s realistic. Does this fear make sense? Is it rational? Is it logical? Is it factual? Is it true?
Or is the fear stemming from a past experience that may not reflect actual, current danger?
Sometimes it’s just our conditioned minds and patterns that tell us that there is something to be afraid of when things are perfectly safe.
Questions:
Your most common fear?
Within that, what are you actually scared of?
If that were true, what impact would that actually have on your day to day life?
Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Do the thing we fear, and death of fear is certain.”
What is the one thing that, if you did it scared, would change your life completely?
