Make Friends With Your Mind - explore identity, ego and AHAMKARA - the "I-Maker" - just as we and those around us construct our identities, we have the power to change them, expand them and continually challenge them to be sure we're living in alignment, vs on auto-pilot or in an effort to fulfill other peoples' needs.
0:00-3:30 - Intro to what Satsang Soul Circles are (for new friends)
3:30 - 38:00 - Topic of the month: Make Friends With Your mind - the ahamkara
38:00 - End - Soul Circle

The ego (ahamkara) is where we experience cognitive distortions - very common, "human" ways of thinking that exacerbate our suffering. The way to work with them is to assess the evidence. Do the facts show this is as true as it feels to your ego right now?

You are not the construct, you are not the construction worker. You are the one observing the construction, the architect, if you will. And you can always challenge the construct. And choose what to dismantle, recycle or reinforce, without attachment.
Journal prompts for this month's focus:
- What’s an element of your identity you’re ready to test?
- What’s a narrative or story you’ve constructed about yourself you’re ready to test or retire?
- What’s a cognitive distortion you’re ready to tackle in the spirit of making friends with your mind?
And if you logged on early for the spontaneous dance party, the track I played is called The Power (feat. Anelisa Lamola) by Wh0:
